Brief Description:  Flight Training - Sports Star EVSS

CPC Lesson #4 - I went out last night last night at 5:00pm. It was Hot! Had a good flight over to the practice area to work on some stalls and slow flight (lesson 4). I had what I would call my first unassisted landing that was pretty good I thought. The second and last one for the night was not quite as good. Left of center, I came in to low, and I didn’t get the power out all the way that caused me to float. Didn’t notice it until I was on the ground. I am thinking about making a new check list. The print is a little too small when I am trying to fly and find the spot where I left off. For me now, it seems hard to get into a flow or rhythm. Just remembering, oh now it is time to do a check list, putting the flaps up after takeoff, and knowing exactly what to say to the tower. It’s starting to get better with each flight. Seems like a lot is going on that it is easy to forget something. I guess that is why the checklists are so important. I need to work on using trim more often to maintain climbs and descents. I have had some problems getting my ears to clear on descent. I am thinking I might be having some sinus problems causing that. I have been trying some techniques out of the flight manual to see if that will help. All in all having a blast flying the sports star and is more fun than the C150 I have flown in the past.
