Brief Description: Drill out rear spar W407B and Doubler
With right wing trimming complete, I started removing the left wing rear spar extension W407B, including the W407D doubler that is attached to it and is also part of my problem. The replacement set is 9/16 inch longer to allow proper wing sweep so here we go. The flap brace was not yet riveted at the bottom so I was able to pull it up and get my rivet removal tool in there. It encircles the AN470 rivet head and you preset the plunge depth of the #30 bit so it is just deep enough to allow rivet head to be snapped off. Then you tap out the remainder of the rivet. There's about 30 rivets to remove.
