Day 2 of the firewall forward push. Jeff convinced me to use Skybolt fasteners instead of the aluminum hinges shown on the plans. It wasn't too hard a sell as I had been thinking along those lines anyway. It did add $600 to the cost of the plane just in parts. I made the brackets for teh fasteners from .063 aluminum. Boy it's great to work in a hanger with all the sheetmetal tools.
We temporarily riveted the top forward skin on. It's way too early to do a final install as all the avionics has to be done yet.
We fitted the top cowl and attached the the spinner backplate to the prop. I painted and installed the engine power controls bracket to the instrument panel. I want to be able to drop the engine controls to remove the avionics panel.
