Brief Description: Finished D1000 main wire harness
Practiced crimping Molex connectors on 2 - 22Ga wires. Used 1.6 mm crimp for 22Ga wire and 2.0 mm crimp for the insulation. I had to trim some of the “wings” off of the insulation portion of 18-22ga molex connectors because they would over wrap when crimping and break off. Crimped molex connectors on all 5 serial port lines from bolth D1000 displays. The Tx and Rx wires from each display have to be connected together so that both displays receive the data from the primary and backup GPS, ADSB, XPNDR. Connected the power/gnd from both displays to both primary and secondary GPS units with another pwr/gnd wire connected between the two GPS power connections (in case one of the D1000s fails)
