Brief Description:  Wired the main 12 volt bus with key box

I wired the 912iS Key box to the main 12 volt bus board supplied by Pipistrel (You need the schematic form Pipistrel know how to connect this so be sure to as for it). This bus board includes the main fuses, the voltage and current measuring sensors, the solenoids for the starter and the avionics and the power for the 912iS electronics. I ran into a problem crimping the AMP terminals to the 16ga wires supplied by the main bus board. Rotax recommends an industrial $1800 crimper to crimp these terminals and I could not find any other substitute. Instead, I used the insulation side (larger 3.6mm crimp) on a $12 molex connecter. I had to work back and forth over the crimp (crimper was not wide enough) but I got a reasonable crimp using a lot of elbow grease. I also soldered the crimp just to be sure. I would have been nice if Pipistrel would have pre-crimped these terminals with the proper tool. I was not able to get a water tight seal on the wire side of this AMP connector. The plastic disk used to compress the rubber seal appeared to be too large and kept turning sideways (looks like a bad design). I ground it down and tapered the edges but it still would not go together properly (Rotax shows how the parts go together so that was not the problem). Because this fuse box and connector is in the cockpit, it does not have to be water tight so I did not worry about it and just put it together as best I could.
