Brief Description: Manufactured ground planes for ADSB, Transponder
Cut out 380mm x 380mm sheet aluminum squares. Drilled holes for antenna BNC connector and mounting bolts. Applied silicon rubber to base of antenna, then mounted antenna and ground plane. Used external lock washers between the ground plane and carbon fiber fuselage to make electrical contact with carbon fiber to try and increase effective ground plane size. This may or may not make things better. Dynon recommends just sticking with the 380mm square ground plane. I will have to experiment.
