Brief Description:  Installed parachute strap covers

Used masking tape to trial fit parachute strap covers. Sanded down end of cover flush with fusalage were wings attach. Filled all the holes (zip tie holes and where straps go through top of fuselage) with silicone rubber. Used masking tape mark were covers attached to fuselage. Left masking tape on one sided, flipped the cover over and ran a bead of black silicone rubber around the edge. Flipped the cover back in position, pressed them down squeezing out the silicone, wiped off the silicone and then taped down with masking tape. Let dry overnight. In the morning, I noticed a few areas that had had not taped, pulled away and when I removed the tape, even more of the cover pulled away from fuselage. I removed both covers and found that the silicone rubber was not completely dry and a few areas that were very thin on silicone rubber. I removed all the silicone rubber (easy because it was not completely dry). Sanded lightly with very fine grit paper were covers will attach to fuselage (dont' want them falling off prematurely). Applied a thicker coat of silicon rubber and did press down as hard so I left a slightly thicker coat of silicone between the cover and the fuselage. (I squeezed almost all the silicone out last time). I didn't worry about getting all the silicone cleaned up right up to the edge of the covers and Taped down the covers making sure all seams were taped. This time I let the silicone dry for over 24 hours (removed on the third day). This time when I removed the tape, the cover were glued down all around and secure. I used my finger nail to remove the excess silicone around the edges of the covers
