Brief Description: Began riveting stiffeners to side skins and lower
Today Curt came down from Phoenix to help in the riveting of the tail cone. Took a little time to explain the process and different types of riveting we would be doing. Curt's mechanical background allowed us to progress quickly. I chose to back rivet since it seemed like the most widely used technique by other builders if you had a partner. Overall, the rivets came out fine however, I have decided to use the more conventional riveting technique with the tungsten bucking bar as I like the shop head formation much better. We only had one oops where I failed to ensure that Curt was bucking the rivet I was on. Otherwise, a very successful first day.
