Brief Description:  Right Leading edge

Finished the right leading edge. installed the plate nuts on the joint plate for the tank to leading edge attach point. Made a mistake on the sequence. Drilled the holes to final size #19 prior to drilling the nut plate attach rivets. Which means the nut plates will not be exactly concentric to the drilled hole and not line up with the holes in the tank skin. This is a big problem. What I came up with is this, Take a # 8 flat head screw, cut it down to about 1/2 inch. Finish the end so it will easily start in the plate nut. Then I dimpled the attach holes to a #8. Then place the plate nut on the outside of the joint plate screw the short screw into the nut plate. This will align the head of the screw concentric to the dimple which will align the nut plate concentric to the dimple hole. Drill the nut plate rivet holes to the joint plate. I used the same nut plate over and over for all 14 holes. As you can see the nut plate after riveting is aligned perfectly with the hole. Worked very well.
