Brief Description:  Three Day Workshop

Attended Stewart System class taught by Marvin Haught.

Workshop was good. I made the mistake of showing up at 9:00am for the workshop. Most folks had arrived by 7:30 am, so I was playing 'catch up' most of the day missing the introduction and things not to do. Thankfully I was able to catch up, but it was either catch up or do a neat job. Well, my work was not up to my own standards. It would have been acceptable for a "Crop Duster" that you want back in the field immediately. Thankfully JB was taking the class, as Deb. JB has covered dozens of planes, so the process was new to him. Deb is a first time builder, and had excellent workmanship. Hmm, Glue, Fabric, and Paint are not my favorite chores, and after a bit I realized Deb was just having fun while producing excellent work. Lesson to be learned!

My tip is to watch the video's BEFORE that class. Remind the instructor to send them out when you send in a deposit. It will help. Bring a charcoal respirator for the class!!!

Good part: The glue, eko fill, and everything was was excellent for my health! I had a reaction to MEK (solvent used for Stitts process), and was worried about a fabric aircraft. Glad to say not an issue with Stewart Systems.

PAINT:
3 Parts Part A
1 Part Part B (Grams Part A divide by 3.3 = Part B)
X Parts Water (Grams Part A dived by 2.5 = Water)

Mix Parts A & B until smooth and creamy
Then add water. Throughly mix. Confirm viscosity and spray.
Viscosity shouel be 21-22 seonds using Depont M50 cup.

Spray at 23 pounds.
