Brief Description:  TM Technology - Metal Intensive Workshop

TM Technology Metal Working Intensive Workshop

Stretching, Shrinking, Welding aluminum.

My son also attended the workshop. We had a blast, and both of us learned quite a bit more than I ever expected.

I couldn't weld aluminum. Once I got the correct instruction, and started to realize what I had been doing wrong, just say a whole new world opened up for me. As I was welding I had this sitting on a piece of aluminum (heat sink). Needless to say, my heat was dead on... until I was over the portion that didn't have the heat sink.... hence the end weld. 3003 0.050" flanged weld (tank weld). Clean the oxide off and get welding within 20 minutes!

On that practice part - last weld is in the middle. Clamped it and let it hang in free air (no heat sink), and I was cooking! Just a long way to go, but like my old music teacher said "practice to make perfect, perfect takes practice". Just that one bead was worth the price of admission.
