Brief Description:  Stringers

Originally had bought stringers from Aircraft Spruce back in 2006. To ship them, had them cut down to 8', idea being a simple 1/4" x 1/2" aluminum insert as a splice to full length. I hated the way they bowed out, what a mess with the Bearhawk Curves.

Meanwhile Avipro has been stocking some nice extruded 1/4" a 1" aluminum. Little wider, but you can form these in nicely. Strapped the material to the passenger side of my Crew Cab. One end over the passenger mirror, other end by the back of the truck. Two straps from the bed held them in fine.

Much nicer forms. Just a little bit of trim and fit.

Fuselage is upside down in the photo's. I love the rotisserie, just rotate it to a good work angle.

First photo. Helping hand is an adjustable strap. It is being used to help pull the stringer in, so I can drill the holes. Notice the scrap 4130 perpendicular to the frame. Simple "drill stop" so as I go through the second tab, I don't scratch the tube.

Second photo. Hard to see, but front end i trimmed to fit. This allows the stringer to meet the door frame a little cleaner.
