Brief Description:  Drilling the vertical stablizer and preparing ribs

I very cautiously started the first steps in building the the VS. Plans were compared to parts multiple times. I set up my air drill and then checked the plans and parts one more time before putting the drill to metal. Maybe I'm over cautious now. But I don't want to make another costly mistake. Every drilled hole was checked with a rivet to be sure I didn't enlarge the holesThe ribs needed moderate fluting to straighten them out. Finishing the edges went quickly as I tried Van's recommended method of deburring the edges and then a couple of passes along the Scotchbrite wheel. I then inspected the edges with a magnifying glass and rubbed ouy any remaining shear marks with emery cloth and/or scotchbrite. After 2.5 hours, I was tired. The next step was to final drill the whole structure. I know my limits now, so I'll drill tomorrow.
