Brief Description:  Empennage lower fairing (pilot side)

- The plans call for cutting an aluminum strip to cover the open gap below the horizontal stabilizer at the fuselage and to mate up with the fiberglass upper fairing. I made a template from construction paper to accomplish this but quickly realized I had no .025" 2024-T3 sheet to make the parts. I decided to make these fairings out of fiberglass using the fuselage, horizontal stabilizer, and masking tape as the mold.
- Built up transition with masking tape
- Covered the transition with box tape
- Outlined general area for the fairing with electrical tape
- Layered fiberglass to make the part. Once this part dries it will be cut to its final shape and drilled holes will be added for screw clearance to bolt to the fuselage
