Brief Description: cutting panel fitting GRT sport
The GRT Sport arrived today.
After trying to use a fly cutter to cut holes in the panel I gave up and bought two hole saws from Ace Hardware on the way home from work today. One is 3 1/8 and the other is 2 1/4.
Dick Isherwood came over to help. I used a die grinder with a cutting wheel to cut the EIS hole after Dick made the first couple of cuts to show me how. Then I cut the large hole in the middle for the GRT Sport and the air gizmo to hold the Garmin 396.
Ater the initial cut I used a file to clean up the edge and make the rectangular holest just the right size. I used the hole saws to make the round holes for the Dynon 6 and the GT 50 clock/g meter.
I have not yet cut the radio stack hole. One reason for that is that I can still decide to go with a Garmin 330 tranpsonder and get traffic that will feed into the GRT EFIS. That would cost about a thousand dollars extra. The tray size for the 327 is different than the 330.
