Brief Description:  marker beacon ant - music jack circuit

Went to Dick Isherwoods house today and borrowed his crimper to use on the pins for the audio panel D sub connector.

I installed pins on the end of the center wire of the coax cable RG 58U that I am using as the marker beacon antenna. I also installed a pin on the shield and attached both to J1 connector of the audio panel.

I prepared to install the music jack cable connections to the music 1 pins on the rear of the J2 connecter when I discovered that there already pins in two of the three pin positions. That confused me until I remembered that I had installed an audio warning to those pins so that it could be heard on entertainment (music) 1.

So, I prepared the music jack cable for installation on the J2 connetoer pins 25 (L), 27 (R), and 28 (lo). I prepared a diagram in powerpoint for the aircraft documentation. I have not yet installed the cable into the connector.

I tested the avionics. The G 396 aquired three satelites and was active. However the GRT Sport indicated that it was not receiving a signal from the G396. The EIS did seem to work since I was getting msgs that my oil pressure was low etc.
