Brief Description: gps 396 cable wiring to audio panel - air switch
Learned how to make a passive stereo mixer from Dick Isherwood.
The garmin 396 audio plug is stereo. I am wiring it to the ADF input on the audio panel which is mono. So, I took the two audio wires in the 396 cable, l and r, and attached a 10k ohm resister to each. Then I soldered the to wires together then to a pinned wire that will plug into the audio panel J1 pin 7 audio high.
I soldered a pinned wire to the shielding, which will be attached to pin 8, audio lo on the J1 connector for the ADF.
I attempted to attach the air switch to the aft baggage wall behind the panel, but my air compressor cable quick disconnect failed and I was unable to use the air drill.
It is 10:06 pm and I am tired. I have learned that when I am tired, it is time to stop working before I screw something up.
I also worked on organizing the documentation and started a notebook for aircraft systems.
