I installed the connector into the body of the ICOM radio and attached the two ground wires to the rear of the audio panel tray, using a nut to hold the rings of the ground wires on the rear of the screws that hold the connector in place on the back of tray. I don't like that arrangement because it may prevent the removal of the screws from inside the tray.
