Brief Description:  finished ICOM wiring, finished transponder,

Worked on getting the wiring for the two harnesses for the Dynon D6, one for the PC connection and another for the remote compass. Went to skycraft but did not find the type wire bundle I need.

I called Dynon, they refered me to Steinair. Called Stein, he has the wiring I need on his website. I will order it, but first I need to know how much I need, which depends upon where I will install the remote compass. Researched on VAF. Determined the best location is in the fuselage aft of the baggage area.

Fabricated a plate to mount both the Dynon and GRT remote compasses. I will need to mount the plate to cross pieces then attach the assembly to the airframe.

Worked on the wiring runs on the backside of the panel.

The wire bundle that I will make for the PC connection for the Dynon D6 will be three wires. One of those wires will splice into another wire that will go to the GPS to send GPS data to the D6 in case of loss of pitot input, as a failsafe. I spliced the blue data wire from the garmin 396 into a yellow/blk wire that will run to the bundle for the PC connection for the Dynon D6.

Dick Isherwood stopped by. We finished wiring the ICOM 200 and installed the connector into the tray. Tried the radio, which fits into the connector. However, the ICOM uses a different hex key that all the other avionics pieces and we did not have it to use to remove the radio from the tray.

We also installed the connector into the tray for the Garmin 327 transponder. We used a metal backshell with strain relief. Installed the transponder to check out the fit. It did not mate, and we realized that we had the connector in upside down. We corrected that mistake and the transponder fits into the tray and mates to the connector.
