Brief Description:  FAB box alignment

Once again I struggled with the alighnment of the FAB with cowl snout. Tonight I made a mock up of the FAB mounting plate out of cardboard. It was off.

Then I made another out of plastic. That had the advantage of being able to see through it to the FAB to determine where the holes are in relation to the air filter rubber edge.

I managed to get the pattern made and bolted to the engine with the FAB attached. It seems to line up. I will have to put on the lower cowl to check for certain before I use the pattern to drill the actual aluminum FAB mounting plate.

I called B&C to check on a 2-50 switch for the pmag. B&C is the only place I could find that carries it. It cost $20, but the want an additional $7 to ship it. UNfortunately the momentary portion of the switch is opposite the keyway, that puts it on the bottom since I already drilled my panel with the retaining hole on the top. I am thinking that through.
