The FPS is very complicated. I made progress in understanding it tonight. Here are some of the thoughts that I had and wrote down:

Why do they refer to one switch as “automatic” and the other “manual” ? You have to manually operate either of them. The automatic switch does the incremental thing and the manual switch does not.

I have never seen a switch like that in the schematic…it has buttons.

The instructions say that the infinity stick grip is compatible with the”switching methodology” I guess that means that the stick switch is the same as two separate switches, one up and one down. The Manual switch is on the stick and is optional. The stick grip switch will work but will require a relay.

The instructions recommend against mounting the switch (at least the “automatic” switch, on the stick because it will cause the flaps to use if bumped) well….duh !!! Does that mean that the recommend against having a stick mounted switch at all or just not the “automatic” switch? Do they recommend that you have a “manual” switch on the stick? Got it, because the manual switch will not run the full increment.

The flap motor seems to connect directly with the “manual” switch, which seems to be the one on the stick. I still do not understand this…if the manual switch is optional, why does it connect directly to the flap motor, leaving the required switch unconnected if you don’t use the manual switch?

Oh wait, the diagram shows the wires from the FPS flap motor up and down inputs, 15 and 16, running to the manual switch which is also connected directly to the flap motor leads……. That cannot work if the “manual” switch is on the stick.

Q. Do you need a separate relay for the trim motor to use the hat switch on the stick for trim?

I need at least one relay and a (on) non (on) SPDT switch.
