Brief Description:  engine wiring

Finished up making the correct size cables and installing them. At skycraft I purchased and crimped on end fittings to make the alternator #6 cable and the starter #2 cable the correct length.

I also installed the ANL fuseblock on the firewall and connected the alternator cable from the alternator B lead to one side and the cable from the battery side of the battery contactor to the other side. The alternator B lead will supply power into the battery when the battery switch is on. Since power flows to the buss from a cable attached at the same point as the alternator cable attaches, it seems that the alternator B lead will also supply power to the busses. I need to check the wiring diagram to make sure that is correct although I reviewed it recently.

The Starter cable enters the firewall and goes aft under the battery tray. I had to remove the battery tray to connect the starter cable.

It seems that the 1" hole I made in the firewall on the starboard side for the EIS wiring is on the wrong side! If I install the EIS box on the left side of the panel I will have to run the wiring across the airplane then forward which adds to the wiring run and makes the wiring too short to connect to the port side cht and egt wiring.
