Continued trimming the canopy. After positioning the canopy and securing it, I put used Vans recommended method of putting cardboard between the roll bar and the front of the canopy frame to show the area where the cut should be made to separate the two halves of the canopy.
I used two strips of tape, about 1/8 inch apart to mark the area of the big cut. I used a dremel tool with the extension cable and a cutoff wheel. The cut was no big deal and turned out reasonably well.
