Brief Description:  mounting radio stack

assembled the radio stack so that the fronts of all radios line up flush in front. Marked a line across the radios for reference. Taped the radios together with two bands of tape. Made a two aluminum straps out of scrap and drilled them to accept clecos in the holes where the radio mounting holes are in the middle of the radio stack. Clecoed the straps as a temporary way to hold the stack together in the correct positions.

Worked on placement of angle mounts to hold the radios. Drilled on the reamining angle for the radio stack, outboard side.

Determined the placement of radios in the panel with relation to the front of the panel. Marked two places where the radios trays have holes to mount them to the side angles and clecoed them in place. Then I marked the other holes. I used an angle drill to drill several holes through the radio tray sides into the angle. I will have to remove the angle and drill the remaining marked holes.

I read the installation manuals for all radios and determined that the all use #6 scres. I will drill the angle pieces for that size screw.

Assembled the assorted hardware for each of the radio stack items.
