Brief Description:  FAB alignment, firewall passthrough for electrical

Actually I did several things tonight.

I made a mock up out of aluminum for the cover plate that goes on the right side of the pilot seat so that I could figure out if the EIS box could fit there. I could not make it fit.

I trimmed the actual side plate to fit the brake tubes which rise at the front of the plate.

I worked with the filtered air box mounting plate to align it with the middle of the engine so that it will fit the snout of the cowling. That will allow me to use the bolt hole pattern to make a new top plate. I still have to fabricate the new top plate from .063 material I bought at sun and fun.

I made a 3/4 in hole in the firewall on the starboard side for wires. Unfortunately it now seems that the EIS will have to be mounted on the panel on the left side of the aircraft so the hole may not be in the best location.

I determined the best location for the hole in the firewall for the starter and alternator cables is just below the cabin heat box on the starboard side of the firewall at the bottom.

I intend to use steel electrical connectors as firewall pass throughs except for the one that will be the stainless steel unit that I bought for that purpose.
