Brief Description:  cowl fasteners, fiberglass work

This was the first hands on work I have done on the project since I crashed my motorcycle on Oct 16. I did worked on the project for a couple of hours in the morning and 3 hours after work. Dick Isherwood came by to help in the evening.

I installed the skybolt fastener hardware on the bottom cowl. Trial fitted the cowl and made adjustments to the dept setting of the skybolt fasteners after removing the cowl. I am concerned tha the skybold fasteners on the top cowl closest to the bottom on each side will interfere with the insertion of the pin which secures the lower cowl sides.

We located the oil door cutout and glassed in back into the hole it left when removed from the cowl. The reason for this is that I did not leave enough of an edge to overlap the door when it is installed.

We also glassed the ramps in place on the upper cowl.

I located the oil door as well as the hidden hinge I had bought for it. I need to trim the oil door to its final size.

Another part of the project that I intend to start on soon is the FAB and its attachment to the engine. I examined it tonight and recognized that I need to drill the 1/4 in holes in the spacer bertween the FAB and fuel injection body so that it will not bind.
