Brief Description: cowl mounting strips and cowl fitting
I ordered aluminum strips from wicks to fabricate the reamining mounting strips. T2024, .050, 3x24 inc strips. They should arrive Thursday.
I designed a coup0le of alternate plans for the mounting of the cowl at the pont where the cowl split contacts the firewall. I correpsonded with Ned Bowers by email and at his request forwarded the diagrams to him for his input. He is beginning to use a different type of fastener and will trade me the new ones for my old ones.
Martza Majstoravich assisted me with fitting the cowl halves. I trimmed just a bit off the aft middle end of the top cowl and it fits better...actually it fits pretty well.
The bottom cowl was trial fitted as well. It was apparant that the overlap on the bottom of the cowl near the exhaust needed to be trimmed. I removed the lower cowl, trimmed it, and fitted it. It looks much better but will still need a bit of work.
