Brief Description:  mixture and throttle rigging

Jeremy came by tonight to help. I had already begun making the new mounting plate for the FAB. I used the one that came with the project as a pattern. I cut the shape on the bandsaw and used the sander to further shape the edges. A file and scotchbrite made the edges smooth. I offset the intake hole from the center by 1/2 inch. That allows the FAB to be aligned dead center in the cowl.

Jeremy and I continued to work on rigging the throttle. We disassembled the quadrant again and drilled a hole in the throttle lever higher that the existing hole. We finally got the throttle to go stop to stop, although just barely.

I noticed that when the mixture and throttle are rigged to have full throw at the servo end, the cable connection at the anchor point on the quandrant does not show threads. If I bring the cable aft enough to show threads, the rigging no longer allows full travel at the servo.

The problem is that the anchor point is mounted too far aft on the quadrant. The holes in the quadrant were pre drilled. I could have drilled the holes in the anchor point angle piece a little further from the angle and it would probably have worked. I need to order more stock and make another anchor point. I needed to make and mount an anchor for the alternate air anyway.
