Brief Description:  FAB and engine cable controls

Jorge Martinez came by with his nibbler that attaches to a drill to help make new FAB plate that would be offset 1/2 inch fromt the centerline. The purpose of the offset is to align the FAB in the center of the engine. I temporarily fitted the fuel injector servo and determined that a 1/2 inch offset will work well.

Jeremy Heidinger posted a message on VAF indicating that he would be in the area and wanted to hook up with RV folks. It turns out that he is staying at the Courtyard at 50 and Magnolia, about 3 long blocks away. He stopped by and we worked on the project together until 1am. We were working on the cable throw and the travel of the fuel injection mixture and throttle arms. The throttle works fine, but the mixture arm does not have full throw.

We disconnected the cable from the quadrant end and actuated it by hand. That test determined that the lenth of the cable throw is sufficient to move the mixture arm from stop to stop. The problem is therefore that the cable is not getting full throw when actuated by the quadrant lever. One solution is to remove a part of the quadrant lever to allow the lever to move more fully forward.
