I mentally confirmed the layout of the fasteners on the mounting strip. I will have to move the fastener positions on the top engine mount area down .250 to make sure they clear the mount. The position of the fasteners with respect to the joint between the upper and lower cowl works out just right.
I will have to remove a section of one of the strips and replace it because one of the fastener positions falls exactly on the joint between two sections of mounting strip.
I removed one section of mounting strip and trimmed off a bit of the end for reasons stated above, then trimmed the width of the strip to be 1.250 from the edge of the topskin at the firewall.
