Brief Description:  cowl mounting strip

Almost finished marking the locations of the camlock fasteners for cowl mounting. I only have the small bottom pieces left to finish.

The top of the firewall has 14 places. They straddle the top dead center of the firewall and are placed 3 1/2 inches apart, except for the bottom most position which is 4 inches from the one above it. The reason for the 4 inch placement is to put the fastener as close as possible to the joint where the top and bottom cowl halfs meet.

The fasterners on the bottom sides of the cowl are 3.75 inches apart which works best to have the bottom fastener as low as possible. Even so, there will be what might be an unacceptable gap between the bottom side fastener and the most outboard fastener on the bottom.

The bottom strip is just over 7 inches long which makes it impossible to have the appropriate spacing between the fasteners on that strip.

I lubed the front wheel bearing with Aeroshell #5 grease. It took 8 pumps of my grease gun.
