Brief Description:  cooling ramp, front top skin

I used a dremel with a cutoff wheel to trim the area in front of the cooling ramp sides to stop intereference with the engine mount. I cleaned up the holes in the side pieces where rivets go and made sure that an AN3 rivet would fit. I will need someone to help with the bucking of those rivets.

Installed the forward top skin, temporarily, while I work on the skybolt fastener strip installation. I measured 3 1/2 in places around the firewall, starting from the middle top and found that the two top engine mounts will get in the way of the skybolt fasteners. I will have to offset the top mounting position on either side of the centerline.

Mounted the spacer material that goes between the top of the firewall and the underside of the forward top skin. I had made that spacer in the past but had made so many mistakes on it I decided to start fresh with a new piece of aluminum.

I reviewed the instructions for installing the composite baggage door. It seems that there is no difference in the installation of the cross support piece that is used with the regular baggage door.
