Brief Description:  throttle and mixture cables attach to quadrant

I called precision airmotive and asked if it made a difference in which side of the servo is forward, it does not as long as the controls and intake/outlet fittings and cable connections are in the right places. Mine are.

I called Vans today and spoke with Gus who is the one there who is supposed to know about FWF issues with the 8/8A including the cable length and servo issues.

He confirmed that the servo can be mounted in any direction. The mixture should be on the left, the throttle on the right, and the outlet forward. Mine seems to be fine.

Gus says that the cables I should use are the 60 inch ones. With the vertical draft induction, my setup is simliar to the carb version in placement of the mixture and throttle controls on the servo.

He confirmed that my cowl is fine, all the 8 cowls are the same regarding length. There are three types of scoops. small for the 320, large for the 360 and none for the horizontal induction engines.

I installed the cables onto the quandrant mounting bracket and attached the ends to the throttle and mixture levers. The cable ends are screwed all the way into the fittings attached to the levers. One of the cables had only a couple of turns of thread available at the quadrant side of the mounting plate.
