Determined the position of the holes for the axle nut safety wire on the left main axle. Drilled one of the holes but need to get a new drill bit for the second hole. I dulled the one that I bought today by running it backwards by mistake.
Located dwg 21 which sets out the firewall penetration points for the mixture nad throttle cables. Sent an email to vans to see if the information is still correct. The dwg 21 does not specify if it applies to the fuel injected or carb version, or both.
Fitted the nosegear leg into the engine mount and installed the bolt. It seems fine, at least as good as the original fit with Vans parts.
Marked the firewall for penetrations of the mixture and throttle cables, as per dwg 21, but will wait to hear from Vans before I drill. Also marked the penetration point for the fuel line, as per plans.
