Jorge Martinez stopped by today to visit and see the project. He is building an 8A also. I made 8 spacers (then realized I only needed 4) from aluminum tubing, each spacer 13/32 long. The spacers go on the bolts that attach the brake part to the flange on the axle.
Jorge and I exaimned the plans which were quite confusing and lacking in detail, to determine how the parts go together. I installed the AN4-11 (x3) and one AN4-5 bolts throught the flange on the axel.
I cannot understand the 5/16 hex head screw that has 1/4 #20 threads on the end, with regard to its fitting. The screw is 1 1/2 in long as called out and supplied with the kit. Its shaft protudes about 1/4 out of the flange/axle hole. Therefore the nut will not hold the screw tight. There is no room for a washer??
