Brief Description:  cabin heat box, firewall penetrations

Drilled holes in the firewall for two #10 screws to hold a hose in place, a 1/2 inch hole for wire penetration and a 7/16 hole for manifold pressure sensor...all as depicted on the plans.

Drilled the four holes to attach the cabin heat box using #8 screws. Fabricated an attach point for the cable that will actuate the lever of the heat box and adjusted the attach point adel clamp to hold the cable exactly underneath and in line with the level of the hole in the swivel nut that I atttached to the acuating lever. I got the swivel nut from Vans.

I cut off the bends in the end of the cabin heat cable that Paul Paycak gave me from the RV6 he crashed into the orange grove in Sanford. I should have cut off just about 1/4 inch less since I need all the bare wire to go the full throw. I may have to trim the cable a bit to expose more wire.

I still need to work on at least one more attachment point and drill a hole where the cable will come through the firewall.

Made a few more turns with the reamer on the nosegear to engine mount hole, no measureable improvement.

Flew the L2 at sunset.
