I haven't posted in a while, but I am back to working on the plane the last 5 days. I have been doing lots of canopy work in preparation for riveting on the front skin. The most time consuming has been a cover I am fabricating to hide the canopy brace kit. I dislike the look of the brace with its large holes and associated stiffening flanges. Every panel picture you see with the canopy open shows off that ugly brace.
The cover will have the added benefit of me not having to paint the underlying skin beneath the canopy brace prior to riveting the brace (in order to get good coverage under the holes in the brace) I will be able to rivet the cover and everything else together, and then paint the canopy frame as a whole... I'll post pics in the next few days...my camera is on the blink...
