Formed the stiffener flanges around the lightening holes in the canopy brace. I used a slotted piece of hardwood per the instructions, and although several builder sites I checked didn't like this method, I'm quite satisfied with the results. The key is cutting a tight slot in the hardwood, and forming it against a workbench edge to get a clean bend. I also riveted the splice plate to the rear canopy bow (after priming the parts) and drilled the canopy handle block to the splice plate.
