Brief Description: Attached a hinge to the cowling
Prepared the hinges to be attached to the cowl halves. Drilled 1/4" holes in the hinges to help take the stress off the rivets.
Scuffed up the cowl and hinge material with #80 sandpaper to help the epoxy bond. Used cabosil and epoxy slurry. Slopped on the mix and cleco'd the hinge in place. Used my rivet squeezer to set the rivets, then smoothed out the epoxy slurry with my finger, and removed any excess around the hinge eyes. I taped off the hinge eyes prior to riveting, and removed the tape afterwards and made sure all the epoxy was cleaned off. Ran the hinge pin throgh before everything set up to be sure no epoxy got in the eyes...
