Brief Description: Dimpled Top of L-Wing Ribs and Rear Spar
16-2: Step 6: Dimpled top of L-Wing Ribs and Rear Spar. Used the Tatco hand squeezer which seemed to do a more controlled job than the pneumatic squeezer. Squeezer had the deap longeron jaw on it which tended to spread the angle of the top of the rear spar, so I just hand squeezed them. Nice think metal will grow some hand muscles. Experimented with applying machine countersink to sqeezed dimpled spar to see if it might aid in setting the skin dimple a little tighter and not so high compared to those areas that were machine countersunk. In theory it worked, but the little gain did not seem to be worth the effort and the fact that it seemed that the machine countersink did not perfectly center on the already dimpled hole. So I tried a few and then decided to leave it alone. Then began removing plastic from the right wing skins.
