Well, today was the day that I'm sure every builder loves/dreads. I placed the predrilled skin back on the ribs and drilled the first holes in the ribs. This is a wee bit nerve-racking when you could possibly screw up 4.5 years of work in a short minute...but I didn't. It went fine.
I began by making sure there was no twist in the wing. I did this by checking spar alignment using a plumb bob. After a minor adjustment, all was lined up and ready to go.
The skin was placed on the ribs and ratcheted down into place. Then the ribs were lined up using the center line drawn on them and then the holes were match-drilled. Piece of cake. The spar was skipped until later.
