Brief Description: Worked on the aileron nose skins.
Today I started by marking and drilling the bottom holes in the right aileron nose skin. I then marked the centerline on the nose ribs, aligned the skin to the skeleton and drilled the skin to the nose ribs.
Then, when I flipped it over to start drilling the top, I realized that I needed to bend the nose skin farther so it would sit better against the ribs. So I clamped it down to the bench and hand bent it with some 3/4" MDF. It worked pretty well. Then I decided to put a curve in the skin by hand...also worked pretty well.
Then my 5 year old (Seth) came down to the shop and wanted to help so I put him to work. We flipped the aileron over and marked the hole locations. Then I drilled the holes and he put in the clecos. He was pretty fired up to be helping...good times!
