Brief Description: Forming bottom straps for fuel tanks.
Well, today I got to work in the shop the whole afternoon as my father's day gift...LOVE IT! I was frustrated trying to form the bottom tank straps using aluminum as my test strips so I devised a new plan. I took a nylon tie-down strap, cut off the hook end and riveted on a piece of strap with a 3/16" hole in it. I then used that to find the correct length of strap and transferred it to the steel.
I then formed the rivet end and primed them with epoxy. All 6 bottom straps are now formed and primed. Amazing what can happen when you can string 5 continuous hours together to work on the Bearhawk!!
