Brief Description: Final Rudder Pedal Modifications First Set
It was found that the bolt head on this rudder pedal set would hit the other pedal set. This is hinted at in the plans with a note. I recessed the bolt heads on both sides of the pilots rudder pedal. This was done by cutting the arear away with a Dremel tool using a cut off wheel. The open area was mig welded shut and finished with a flap wheel. These recesses are just deep enoogh to put the heads approximately level with the tube height. The master cylinder was mounted. Due to the need to mount the master cylinder slightly to the side of the vertical tube a offset was needed for the actuation lever. This was made with a .25" piece of .375" tube. The lever addition itself is .062" 4130 steel. See the photo for how this looks finnished. The correct bolt size for the pivots for the toe brakes is AN24-17.
