Brief Description: Design and Construct Transponder Antenna Cover
I designed the transponder antenna cover with my CAd system to be a stack of a series of laser cut parts. These were essentially the same idea as the other covers I did for the fuselage. The parts were glued together with T-88 epoxy and backed for about 30 minutes at 200 degrees. The unit was then sanded. Next I glued in 2 slimmed down 4-40 nuts into the base of the cover. Finally the cover was coated with T-88 epoxy thinned with MEK and baked again at 200 degrees for 30 minutes. The end result is tough, light and aerodynamic.
