The actual surround was finished today. I also made the secondary removeable panel for this area. Since the plane has aerobatic capability I elected to engrave the information on my panel with my laser-cutter. Each of these panels consists of a 1/32" aircraft grade plywood backer glued to a colored laminate front. Since I had to custom fit each of the pieces several samples were laser-cut from chip board to arrive at the final components. I now only have to add the screws that will hold these panels in place.
