I hated the cheap ring tail tie down on the plane. Hence, I designed a new one and had it machined from stainless steel. It is a one piece unit with internal material removed to make it weigh less. It inly weighs .25 ounces more than the ring it replaced, but is aerodynamic, tough, has a larger base bolt and corrosion proof. It took a fair amount of work to change the mount in the plane to the correct holes size for the new tie down, but it sure is worth it. I looked every place I could and could not find a part like this to use.
