Brief Description:  Replace Flap Drive Bracket

The flap drive bracket in the aircraft was made per the original plans. However, Siers issued a DCN for this item to change it. The one in the aircraft was badly bent as shown in the photos. The new one was deisgned by me using CAD to conform with the required changes. It was laser-cut via a service, as well as, bent and folded priot to arrival. The unit consists of 3 pieces which I then assembled with rivits here. The replacement required the complete removal of the flap assembly. It also required cutting out a portion of the flap skin to get to the bracket mounting bolts. The new bracket was then mounted and the skin replaced with a new section. Finally the assembly was reinstalled in the aircraft and the stop switches were adjusted to work with the new bracket that is not deformed.
