Brief Description: Elevator horn. Remove plate, weld close, re drill.
So, what do we have here? Seems the original builder riveted a steel plate to both elevator control horns. Why. Well if you look closely you will see that the hole in the horn was misplaced. The riveted plate basically relocates the hole. I’m mounting these old elevators to a new horizontal stab and the existing hole will be again misplaced. So, I removed the plate and had the holes welded up so I could re drill them where I needed them.
