Well, I started polishing aluminum today. The first piece I worked on was the rudder, and I only used the F9 grade in 4-5 passes each. It seemed to go well, except I was a little surprised at how some scratches I thought were minor, I actually could not get them out with the polishing. I will have to be very careful in the future with the rest of the aluminum to really minimize the amount of surface scratches. I did go back over where some of the scratches were and was able to get them out using a Scotchbrite pad and then going over it again with the polisher. I did not quite finish the whole rudder yet.
